Gianna Nannini is marking the 50th anniversary of her career with the launch of GIANNAGOLD, a comprehensive retrospective project released via EMI/Universal Music Italia. The initiative serves as a prelude to the GIANNAGOLD – Celebration Tour – Live 2027, which is scheduled to begin in March 2027 with 10 indoor dates in Italy followed by performances in European arenas.
A New Musical Dimension
The GIANNAGOLD album features a collection of 29 tracks from the artist’s repertoire. This includes 10 hits reimagined in a symphonic version, featuring sound design by Wil Malone and the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Gavin Greenaway. Among the tracks receiving this treatment are “Latin lover,” “Sei nell’anima,” “Ogni tanto,” “I maschi,” “Aria,” “La differenza,” “Ti voglio tanto bene,” “Mama,” “Possiamo sempre,” and “America.”
The album also highlights several new recordings, including the single “AMERICA inc.,” a collaboration with rapper Marracash produced by Nannini and Dardust. Other new tracks include “Meraviglioso errore,” written with Brunori Sas and Dimartino, “Cani Sciolti,” and the single “Ricominciassimo,” a ballad written by Nannini, Federico Nardelli, and Gazzelle. This ballad explores the contradictions of a tormented love, balancing nostalgia with the persistent desire to begin again. The production benefits from the work of sound engineer Manny Marroquin, a 14-time Grammy Award winner whose credits include collaborations with artists such as Rosalia, Bruno Mars, Alicia Keys, Kanye West, Rihanna, and The Rolling Stones. “Meraviglioso errore,” also included in an acoustic version, marked the first collaboration between Nannini and the Calabrian singer-songwriter.
Formats and Celebration
The project is available in several physical formats, including a double CD and a triple LP on black vinyl. Exclusive versions, including a signed and numbered double CD and a signed and numbered triple LP with red vinyl, are available through the official shops of the artist and Universal.
