Gigantamax Duraludon: Dragon Attacker, Not a Tank, Pokémon GO Hub

Gigantamax Duraludon will make its global debut in six-star Max Battles during GO Wild Area 2026: Global on November 14 and 15, bringing formidable Dragon-type damage potential to the mobile title’s combat meta, Pokémon GO Hub reported.

  • Gigantamax Duraludon hits the game globally on November 14 and 15 during GO Wild Area 2026: Global, appearing in six-star Max Battles.
  • It ranks just 15% behind Eternatus in damage output, outperforming debuting rivals like Dynamax Palkia and Dynamax Dialga.
  • Despite its offensive power, its low defense and HP leave it out of top tanking tiers.

As a Steel and Dragon-type, Gigantamax Duraludon bridges two formidable typings into a towering offensive force. Among existing Dragon damage dealers, it sits closest to Eternatus, trailing that legendary powerhouse by roughly 15% in overall output. Pokémon GO Hub noted that for trainers who cannot max out an Eternatus, Duraludon serves as a practical top-tier alternative.

When stacked against other recent arrivals, the skyscraper-inspired Pokémon clears the field with ease. It deals about 10% more damage than Dynamax Palkia and edges out Dynamax Dialga by 11%. Against Ice and Fairy attackers, Duraludon maintains its lead, outperforming Dynamax Weavile and Dynamax Gardevoir or Hatterene by at least 21%.

Attacker Typing Damage Comparison
Gigantamax Duraludon Steel / Dragon Trails Eternatus by 15%
Dynamax Palkia Water / Dragon Trails Duraludon by ~10%
Dynamax Dialga Steel / Dragon Trails Duraludon by ~11%

While the offensive numbers command respect, the defensive side paints a different picture. With 185 Defense and 172 base HP, Gigantamax Duraludon falls short as a frontline tank. Double resistances to Poison and Grass offer situational utility, and the 0.5-second Fast Attack Metal Claw helps slightly, but it misses the top 10 entirely for defensive matchups.

Defensive rankings place Duraludon at number 11 against Poison-type attacks and number 15 against Grass-type attacks. Trainers prioritizing longevity will find better endurance elsewhere in the roster. The smart play centers entirely on maximizing its offensive output rather than absorbing incoming hits.

Trainers preparing for the November 14 and 15 event should focus resources on leveling up the Pokémon and upgrading G-Max Depletion. Pokémon GO Hub recommends hunting for a specimen with a 15 Attack IV if resources are tight, though player level and Max Attack level are still important factors.

Looking ahead to future Max Battles, Duraludon remains remarkably future-proof. Only Galarian Darmanitan in Zen Mode manages to outdamage it later on, and that gap sits at a narrow 4%. Perfect IV shiny hunters and budget players alike will find a worthwhile addition to their roster when the global event arrives.
