Gilgeous-Alexander and Williams contribute 36 points to Thunder’s victory against Knicks

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams each contributed 36 points on a night when the latter hit a pair of crucial 3-pointers during the fourth quarter as the Oklahoma City Thunder won 129 on Wednesday. 120 over the New York Knicks.

Chet Holmgren added 22 points for Oklahoma City (20-9), which beat Western Conference-leading Minnesota on Tuesday and was playing on consecutive nights for the third time this season.

Williams did most of the damage in the fourth quarter, when he scored 17 points on 6-of-7 shooting. Eight of those points and two 3-pointers came during a 10-2 run following New York had pulled within 111-106 on Jalen Brunson’s basket with 4:37 left.

Julius Randle led New York (17-13) with 25 points, including 10 free throws, while Brunson added 24 points on 9-of-19 shooting. Immanuel Quickley contributed 22 points as a reserve for the Knicks, who shot 41% from the field but made 24 of 30 free throws.
