As Girkin stated at the beginning, one of the key reasons for the failure of the Russian army in Ukraine was the wrong decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin, which was made in 2015.
According to Girkin, it was then that the Russian leader sent a lot of Russian troops to combat operations in Syria, which, according to the terrorist, turned out to be a mistake. Moreover, earlier the ex-commander of the DPR group opposed the participation of the Russian military in the Syrian war, as he believed that they were needed on the Ukrainian front.
Girkin notes that Russian losses in Syria, including ammunition and equipment, could be used in the Ukrainian war. He believes that the resources expended, including new tanks and guns, which were armed with the Syrian armed forces, proved irreparable on the most important front for Russia.
Thus, Girkin believes that Russia could have significantly improved its position in the war with Ukraine if it had avoided the mistake of sending troops to Syria in 2015 and kept its resources for the Ukrainian front. However, according to the ex-commander of the “DPR”, this is already the past, and Russia will now have to face the difficult consequences of its choice.
Recall that the National Security and Defense Council warned about Putin’s insidious plan: “We need to finish with him as soon as possible.”
