Rumors regarding the alleged death of the Russian terrorist, war criminal Igor Strelkov (Ghirkin), who is sitting in a general regime colony in Russia, have spread online. He was jailed for criticizing the aggressor country’s strategy of waging war once morest Ukraine.
Reports of the alleged death began to spread on the social network H (formerly known as Twitter). Users wrote that Girkin was allegedly found hanged in his cell in the colony.
Under the hashtag “Ghirkin” in the social network, Russians are wondering if the terrorist is really dead. “So, did Girkin go to Navalny’s place for the debate or not?”, “So why is Girkin at the concert yet?”, “Ghirkin is all?” – they write in H.
They also spread an alleged screenshot from the Telegram channel with the name “Myroslava Reginskaya (Freedom for Strelkov!”)”. Myroslava Reginska is Strelkov’s wife, and the description of the channel says that it was created “for the publication of messages and materials regarding the state of affairs of Igor Ivanovich Strelkov, materials of the criminal case, court decisions and the publication of Strelkov’s personal messages from the torture chamber”.
On the “screenshot” it is written: “I have no words. I am horrified by this news. Igor Ivanovich was found hanged in his cell. Strelkov is dead. The fact that he was killed should be known to as many people as possible.” And also a repost of a message from the channel of the former leader of the “DNR” group, Pavlo Gubarev, which allegedly also mentions the death of Girkin.
However, in reality, there are no such messages on Myroslava Reginska’s channel, nor on Gubarev’s channel. At the same time, Girkin’s wife has an almost identical message, but it refers to the death of the Russian propagandist Andriy Morozov: “I have no words. I am horrified by this news. Andriy was a very bright person, our acquaintance with Igor. He proved at the cost of his life, that honor is indeed dearer to him. What killed him must be known to as many people as possible.”
Thus, we can conclude that the information regarding the death of the terrorist Girkin is fake, and the screenshot of the message is photoshopped. There is no evidence that this might be true.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, rumors regarding the death of one of the most ardent propagandists of the Russian Federation, actor Mykhailo Porechenkov, appeared online earlier. It was allegedly liquidated in the temporarily occupied Donbas. This information turned out to be fake.
