A 5-year-old girl lost her life in a collision with a construction vehicle on Thursday morning in Horw (LU). She was installed in the trailer of an electric bicycle driven by her mother, when the dumper – material transport vehicle – struck the trailer.
The accident occurred shortly before 10:30 a.m. near a work area, located near a school, while the construction vehicle was performing a maneuver, the Lucerne police told Keystone-ATS.
3 year old sister slightly injured
The 5-year-old child was hospitalized in serious condition. He succumbed to his injuries shortly followingwards, according to the Lucerne police.
His mother was slightly injured, as was the victim’s 3-year-old sister, who was also installed in the trailer. The Public Ministry has opened an investigation into the accident.
