Catherine Zeta-Jones’ biggest regret is never having been able to play a
Female James Bond.
The 53-year-old Oscar winner says former 007 star Sean Connery backed her to replace him as the spy after they grew close on the set of the 1999 film “Entrapment”.
She told The Sun on Sunday (18.12.22): “I would have loved
play Bond. I had a wonderful relationship with Sean Connery.
we did a movie called ‘Entrapment’ years ago – and he was like my older brother, my father, my support.
“I really loved him. I’m a Bond fanatic and he once said to me, ‘You would have made a great Bond girl. You would have made a great James Bond girl.’ I asked, “A Bond girl or a Bond?
“He said, ‘Bond – girl’. I said, ‘Oh my god, I wish I had played Bond! But I think that time is over.”
Despite recent demands for the first Bond woman, film franchise producer Barbara Broccoli, 62, has insisted the role will remain played by a man.
Catherine, who shares son Dylan, 22, and daughter Carys, 19, with her
Husband of 22 years, Michael Douglas, 78, is currently on screens as Morticia in the new Netflix series “Wednesday,” a reboot of “The Addams Family.”
The series focuses on the teenage problems of Wednesday, the only child of Morticia and her husband.
Filmed by Batman director Tim Burton, the actress said she was joining the cast, which stars Jenna Ortega in the title role: “It was a real treat because it’s such an iconic show. and characters like Fetid and
Morticia are indelible, they are in our subconscious.
“It’s more than pop culture, really. My niece knows the Addams Family.
and my grandmother, God bless her, loved “The Addams Family.”
