GKD is preparing to launch the Pixel, a 2-inch gaming console that will be a competitor to the Anbernic RG Nano. The GKD Pixel will be available in six colors and is expected to be much smaller than a Miyoo Mini.

GKD has started teasing the Pixel, an apparent competitor to the Anbernic RG Nano. As a reminder, the latter was launched in June at a price of $59.99, with a 1.5-inch screen and a case weighing only 75g. In comparison, the GKD Pixel looks about a third larger than the RG Nano; GKD, however, has not yet shown its compact handheld in all its glory. For now, most photos show the back of the GKD Pixel, with the RG Nano, Miyoo Mini, and Miyoo Mini Plus for comparison.

GKD reportedly equips the Pixel with a 2-inch display, which appears to have a 4:3 ratio. Additionally, the GKD Pixel features much thinner screen bezels than theAnbernic RG Nanowhich allows you to have a larger display space without excessively increasing the bulk of the device. Additionally, the GKD Pixel would have a 3.5mm jack and a USB Type-C port, as well as some indicator lights.

According to Retro Dodo, GKD will offer the Pixel in black, blue, green, pink, and red, as well as an unknown special edition option. The GKD Pixel is expected for next month, but in limited quantities. Initially, the game console should be available on RetroCN. However, we wouldn’t be surprised if GKD ultimately offers the Pixel on a crowdfunding platform like Kickstarter, as was the case for the Mini Plus Classic.
