Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell is out with an injury. Maxwell was injured while training in Durban with the Aussie team that came to South Africa for the T20 series. With this, Maxwell was out of the tour. Just one month before the World Cup, Maxwell’s injury is a setback for Australia. It is believed that Maxwell will recover from the injury before the World Cup, but the chief selector said that he is not ready to take any risk.

The Cricket Board believes that Maxwell will be fully fit before the ODI series against India next month. If Maxwell is fit to play in the three-match series, he will also be included in the World Cup squad. The World Cup will be held in India in the months of October-November.

Maxwell played 128 ODIs for Australia and scored 3490 runs at an average of 33.88. The strike rate is 124. Maxwell has also taken 60 wickets in ODIs.

In Maxwell’s absence, Matthew Wade was included in the T20I series against South Africa. Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazelwood, Cameron Green and David Warner are also absent from the squad. All of them have been given rest.
