Goal zero waste: Dr Martens uses its unsold to create new shoes

Dr Martens has just launched a new permanent collection. Under the title “Made In England Deadstock”, it has the particularity of being made from scraps of leather from previous collections. The brand places this approach within the framework of its search for “new ways to use excess materials to create zero-waste shoes and boots. This deep respect for the materials makes it possible to offer a unique pair to each person who will wear these shoes”. The brand intends to make this recycling of different types of leather a key element in terms of design: the seams are exaggerated, the edges unfinished, the eyelets mismatched… “The Deadstock range proudly displays its disparate aesthetic and gives each boot and shoe a different finish”, emphasizes Dr. Martens. Each model is thus unique and claims its anti-waste origin.
