During CCXP23, Legendary Pictures revealed the trailer for the fifth chapter of its “MonsterVerse”. It will be titled Godzilla and Kong: The New Empire, following up on the events of Godzilla vs. Kong.
The film will be directed by Adam Wingard, responsible for the previous film. This time, Godzilla and Kong will need to form an alliance to face a new threat that could destroy monsters and humanity itself.
The cast will consist of Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry and Kaylee Hottle, who will return to the roles of Dr. Illene Andrews, Bernie Hayes and Jia from the film Godzilla vs. Godzilla. Kong, as well as new faces such as Dan Stevens and Fala Chen.

During CCXP23, director Adam Wingard spoke about the villain of Godzilla and Kong: The New Empire. Skar King is a creature as old as the other titans and his existence was indicated in the previous film.
The titan is a primate with reddish fur, blue eyes and a red face. However, rumors suggest that he will be accompanied by another creature, the reptile Shimu. It would make sense for him to be accompanied so that the fight against Kong and Godzilla is balanced.
Godzilla and Kong: The New Empire will hit theaters on April 12th.
