Kolkata: Gokulam returned to winning ways in the Kerala FCI League following beating Isol FC 2–1 thanks to a double from Jordan Fletcher of Jamaica. Gokul’s victory came following 2 consecutive draws. Ayush Chhetri scored the goal for Isol. Gokulam are second in the points table with 18 points from 8 games. The first-placed Mohammedans have 19 points.
In the first half, Gokul’s Luka Majsen, Fletcher, MS Jitin and Emil Benny failed to find the back of the net. In the 63rd minute, VS Sreekuttan’s shot bounced off the post but the ball landed at Fletcher’s feet. Fletcher gave the lead to Gokul, who hit the ball into the empty post. In the 89th minute, Fletcher advanced to the goal post with a delivery from PP Rishad, who deflected the ball into the net. Isol scored in injury time.
