Gold futures closed higher yesterday globally, as investors followed US economic data that showed deteriorating business conditions, indicating a slowdown in economic growth.

The minutes of the recent Federal Reserve meeting revealed that most bank officials supported the issue of slowing down the rate hike soon, and at the end of trading, gold futures for December delivery rose by about $5.70, or 0.3%, to $1,745.60 an ounce.

The yellow metal received support from the weakness of the US dollar, which fell by 0.9%, which helps increase the attractiveness of gold to holders of other currencies.
