Golling Festival Summer: That was the Golling Festival 2022

The festival at Golling Castle is over after a successful 2022 season and closes with brilliant art and culinary highlights and a new visitor record.

GOLLING. With the dying away of the last chord of the operetta gala “The Golden Era” and the audience’s applause that followed, the 23rd Gollinger Festival is over.

That Final concert on August 30th led elatedly through the golden years of operetta. The spirited evening once again demonstrated the enduring feeling that the composers Johann Strauss and Franz von Suppè had for the music – and the listening audience. Even after almost 150 years, the power of music still pulsates with both the artists and the audience.

New visitor record

In contrast to the 2021 season, the weather was more gracious at Golling Castle this season. The capricious weather doesn’t matter to the weather-capable audience at the Tennengau Festival location, so the organizers can look forward to a new visitor record.

Festival director Hermann Döllerer, heart and soul of the art and culinary festival at Golling Castle at the vernissage of Leica photographer Oskar Anrather.

“I’m in the process of doing the final accounts. The 4,000 visitor mark was exceeded. That’s another new visitor record,” says festival director Hermann Döllerer.

Sculptures and pictures dominated the premises at Golling Castle this year.

“We are very satisfied with the result of this year’s festival season. That applies to the artistic performance, the number of visitors and also the weather,” says Döllerer.

Festival of Hearts

A particular highlight of the 2022 season for Hermann Döllerer was Asmik Grigorian’s charity concert. That evening, a total of 60,000 euros was collected for the butterfly children of DEBRA Austria in the SALK at the concert and an art auction. While music is at home in the courtyard, the performing arts have found their place in the art room.

The guest exhibition of the Leica Gallery with photos by Oscar Anrather was extremely well attended.

“The festival is equally popular with holidaymakers and day visitors and is therefore an important attraction for Golling in summer tourism,” says Gudrun Heger, Managing Director of the Golling Tourist Association.

After the show is before the show

The 2022 season has hardly ended when preparations for the 2023 festival season begin.

“The talks with the artists always start immediately after the end of the season. Ultimately, it boils down to both sides finding a suitable date,” says the festival director.

Preliminary talks have already been held with the soprano Asmik Grigorian for the 2025 anniversary season.
