Good news at the pumps: Petrol and diesel return to pre-war prices in Ukraine

Refueling costs less this weekend. Whether for gasoline or diesel, motorists were able to find maximum prices similar to those before the war in Ukraine.

From this Friday, the maximum price per liter of diesel has dropped to €1.737. As of January 1, 2022, the maximum fuel price was €1.733.

On Saturday, the maximum price for gasoline 95 (E10) will drop by 6.7 cents, to 1.683 euros per liter, reaching its lowest level since December 30, 2021, when it returned to 1.667 euros.

By mid-June, however, the price of gasoline 95 had reached a record high of 2.155 euros per liter, mainly due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. At the time, there was even an excise duty reduction in effect, which has since been completely eliminated by the ratchet system. For gasoline 98 (E5), the price fell by 8 cents to reach 1.872 euros per liter on Saturday. This is the lowest level since mid-April, when a discount was still applied. The price had also peaked at 2.402 euros per liter at the beginning of June.
