Good news from global health about Corona

The World Health Organization said that infections and deaths from the Corona virus fell for the third week in a row, a trend helped by reduced levels of surveillance and testing.

In its latest weekly report on the Corona pandemic, the World Health Organization stated that more than 7 million new cases were reported, which represents a 24 percent decrease compared to the previous week, according to the Associated Press.

The weekly number of corona deaths around the world decreased by 18 percent, to more than 22,000 cases.

The World Health Organization said that these declines “must be interpreted with caution”, because many countries that have seen a decline in the outbreak of the virus have changed their testing strategies, which means detecting a much smaller number of cases.

New infections and deaths are declining in the world, including the western Pacific region, where the wave of infections caused strict closures in China.

The organization said it was monitoring several mutant omicron virus.
