Google monetizes Workspace AI. Google Vids was born to create quality videos

LAS VEGAS – It’s called Google Vids and it’s the real surprise of Google Cloud Next. It is not Sora by OpenAi in the sense that it does not want to be “just” a software that transforms text into video. It’s something more concrete that also adds tools for video processing to the Ai gen. The idea is to allow people to collaborate in real time on the same project.

How companies use Gemini for Google Workspace

What can he do?

It is presented as an assistant for writing, producing and editing videos, all in one solution. It can generate an easily editable storyboard and, after choosing a style, develop a first draft with scenes selected from stock videos, images and background music. It can also help you convey your message best with the right voiceover by choosing from preset voiceovers using your own. The demo that was shown is not only surprising but has the merit of highlighting not only the potential of Ai gen but also the tools that video makers already know how to use. Video editing with AI stops being anything other than the normal tools used by creators. And it’s a step in the right direction. Vids will join other Workspace productivity tools like Docs, Sheets and Slides, and will include a simple and intuitive interface, with the ability to collaborate and share projects securely from your browser.

Is Google starting to monetize AI?

A very short announcement also on the monetization side. Microsoft left everyone speechless when it announced that Copilot would add 20 euros per user per month to the price of an Office 365 subscription. At Google Cloud Next, Google followed Microsoft’s lead in terms of monetization, announcing a pair of add-on packages from $10 per month per user for the Google Workspace productivity suite.
For starters, the new AI Meetings and Messaging add-on takes notes for you, provides meeting summaries, and translates content into 69 languages.

Also new on Workspace security

The company also introduced an AI security package, which helps administrators keep Google Workspace content more secure, including the ability to classify and protect files with certain sensitive characteristics. The add-on can also help protect information that should be kept private and apply data loss prevention controls that can be tailored to individual organizations’ specific requirements.
