The Play Books e-book reader is one of the last Google apps to get a facelift based on the Material You design language. The new design is rolling out to the Play Store, with more rounded corners and a wider bottom navigation menu.
However, the interface modernization does not include automatic coloring based on the current system theme, as Play Books always use a shade of blue. Maybe this will change in a future version. The news is part of Play Books version 2024.2.9.0 (it may take some time before the update reaches all users).
