For Android super-fans chasing the latest features ahead of the general public, Google is keeping up a remarkably brisk development cadence. Following a late-August drop of Beta 4 and an appearance from Beta 5 just last week, Android 17 QPR2 Beta 6 arrived earlier than expected.
Supported Devices and the Pixel 11 Exclusion
While Beta 5 marked a milestone by extending support to the newly released Pixel 11 series, the latest update pulls back slightly on hardware compatibility. System images for Beta 6 are available across a wide range of devices—including the Pixel 6a through Pixel 10 families, the Pixel Tablet, the Pixel Fold, and the Android Emulator—but Pixel 11 series devices are not currently supported.
Google representatives have moved to clarify the hardware gap for anxious device owners. Over on the official Reddit thread dedicated to the rollout, company representatives assured testers that dedicated Pixel 11 builds are on the horizon and will arrive soon.
