Government advertisement for party campaign; AAP must pay ₹ 97 crore: Saxena- Pay ₹ 97 Crore | Political Ads | Delhi Civic Body Elections | Lt Governor VK Saxena Arvind Kejriwal | AAP

New Delhi – After the resounding victory in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and AAP are ‘novich’ Lt. Governor VK Saxena. The Lt. Governor ordered that the AAP should pay back the Rs 97 crore spent on publicizing the government’s achievements as part of the election campaign.

Saxena has accused AAP of using the state government’s advertisements for the party’s political campaign. AAP won 135 out of 250 seats in MCD which was held by BJP for 15 years. The attempt to lock AAP on account of advertisement comes after BJP’s defeat in the elections.

News agency ANI reported that Saxena’s allegation was that the AAP had violated the orders of the Supreme Court and the High Court and the guidelines for government advertisements. The Chief Secretary has been instructed to recover the money. Central Government appointed Lt. AAP’s response is that this is a political vendetta against the Governor.
