Carrie Lam pointed out that the government will no longer announce whether to extend social distancing measures every two weeks, but will maintain the measures until late April, when new arrangements will be announced.

All schools in Hong Kong have changed the summer vacation from July to August to March to April earlier, that is, starting from next month, and students do not need to take online classes. The new arrangement applies to kindergartens and primary and secondary schools (including international schools and special schools), excluding post-secondary institutions. The vacated school buildings can be used for testing, isolation and vaccination.

Schools can arrange to resume teaching and conduct face-to-face courses after the Easter holiday (that is, after April 18). The summer vacation from July to August each year will be changed to class days this year, that is, students still have to go to school from July to August. . The last day of school this year is August 12, and the new school year will resume as usual in September.

The HKDSE will still be held on April 22 as originally scheduled.
