The Government of Bolívar state began this weekend the second phase of civil works, in the geological fault (gully) of the Los Alacranes sector in San Félix.

This stage of the project includes cleaning and conditioning of the entire axis of the undermining, they reported in a press release.

The project has been planned through a technical group, made up of the Venezuelan Corporation of Guayana (CVG), the Mayor’s Office of the Caroní municipality and the Governor’s Office of Bolívar.

The first phase included engineering, topographic and hydraulic studies; In addition, the affected population was relocated.

Governor Ángel Marcano ordered the Secretaries of Planning, Environment and Inviobras to assume the commitment to resolve this situation.

This was reported by Marbelis Rodríguez, Secretary of the Environment, who assured that since December they have been working in the gully.

He stressed that the goal is to resolve the damage in the next three months, because the project is made up of 4 phases. “We will be here consistently, until the civil works are completed and the community is safe again.”

Inhabitants of the Los Alacranes sector in the Caroní municipality, prepared to collaborate in the civil works that are being carried out in the community, with the intention of solving the problem of the gully as soon as possible.

Yurmi Pinto, head of the Hugo Chávez (Ubch) Battle Unit of Los Alacranes, pointed out that throughout this process, the people who live in the sector have taken the best civic attitude before the authorities, because they trust the works that have been shown so far.
