Thiruvananthapuram: On the occasion of Onam, government employees will be given Rs 4,000 as bonus and those who are not eligible for bonus will be given Rs 2,750 as festival allowance, Finance Minister K. N. Balagopal informed. 1,000 will also be given as a special festival allowance to service pensioners and retired employees under the Participatory Pension Scheme.
20,000 will be given as Onam advance to all government employees in the state. Advance is Rs 6,000 for other employees including part-time – contingent.
All categories of employees, including contract-scheme workers who received Utsava Batta last year, will get Utsava Batta this year at the same rate. Special assistance will reach more than 13 lakh employees and workers on the occasion of Onam.
