The government allows a new series of municipalities a surcharge on second homes.
The measure applies to country or vacation homes but also to vacant accommodation, in short to all dwellings that are not main residences. It only applies in cities “faced with a marked imbalance between supply and demand for housing, leading to serious difficulties in accessing housing across the entire existing residential stock”.
