Government of Guairá opens applications for financial aid to young people in the department

Asunción, IP Agency.- The Government of Guairá opened the application aimed at young students of the department, to access 100 scholarships consisting of financial aid of 400,000 guaraníes. Technical and teacher training students may also apply and the aim is to strengthen other national programs. In 2024, there will be 500 scholarships, with an investment of G. 200 million.

Registration is open until May 20 and applications can be made from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the office of the Youth Secretariat of the Government (Gral. Díaz, between Alejo García and Beato Roque González) .

Those interested must meet the requirements of being a regular student, have a minimum average of 3, reside in the department of Guairá and not be a beneficiary of other scholarships, reported the departmental governor, César Luis Sosa.

He stressed that the scholarship will consist of a financial contribution for the young people and that they will know what to allocate it to. He added that it could be transportation, payment of fees or registration.

For his part, the departmental secretary of Youth, Edgar Galeano, stressed that young people who are pursuing university degrees, technical degrees and teacher training can apply.

Once the 100 scholarships are awarded, a new call will be made and by 2024, 500 of these financial aid will be granted to students, with resources from the Government’s budget.

For the selection, the average will be taken into account mainly, but socioeconomic aspects will also be considered.

It is the first time that the Government of Guairá, with its budget, finances financial aid to students.
