The Public Relations Department of the Beirut Municipality issued a statement announcing that the Governor of Beirut issued a general warning to violators and trespassers on sidewalks, roads and public property in the city of Beirut.

And the statement stated: “Since some residents of the city of Beirut have deliberately committed violations by encroaching on sidewalks, roads and public property for various reasons, including but not limited to:

Leaving abandoned cars and machinery on the roads and public property.

Arrangement of funeral pyres, pillars and basins for the reservation of parking spaces etc.

Placing stalls and carts of vegetables, fruits and various goods without a license on the sidewalks and roads.

The statement added, “Therefore, we warn the violators of the need to immediately remove and remove these violations and violations, bearing in mind that the members of the Beirut City Guard Regiment will, starting from the date of 9/1/2023, remove all violations and violations from sidewalks, roads and public property without prior warning.”
