GRACQ Condemns Dangerous Traffic Deviation on Boulevard du Souverain – Call for Safer Cycling Routes

2023-11-17 18:49:17

1,500 cyclists pass on Boulevard du Souverain every day. But from November 17 to December 3 the fair occupies the central berm of Boulevard du Souverain in Auderghem.

A dangerous deviation according to GRACQ

And like every year, GRACQ, the Research and Action Group of Daily Cyclists deplores it. According to the association, the diversion is dangerous because it forces cars to take certain streets in the wrong direction. And it forces cyclists to maneuver on Boulevard du Souverain, a four-lane road, very busy with vehicles.

GRACQ therefore proposes that a traffic lane be removed from cars and dedicated to bicycles when there are events on the central berm.
