Gran Turismo 7: Patch 1.31 with new cars and 120fps support coming tomorrow

March is almost over, but Gran Turismo 7 players don’t have to miss out on their monthly update. Also this time there are new bodies!

Polyphony Digital has announced that starting tomorrow, March 30th at 7:00 a.m. German time, you will be able to download the new monthly update for Gran Turismo 7, which this time is version number 1.31.

As usual, the focus is on new vehicles, of which there are four this time. Specifically, this is about:

  • Audi RS 5 Turbo DTM ’19 – a DTM machine with 2 wins in the Class 1 era
  • Porsche 959 ’87 – a four-wheel drive road car that will go down in automotive history
  • Porsche Carrera GTA (904) ’64 – a masterpiece that helped Porsche achieve great success in GT motorsport in the 1960s
  • Toyota Alphard Executive Lounge ’18 – Japan’s premium minivan that has evolved into a top-of-the-line luxury car

But the update has more to offer than these four vehicles. There are also two new track layouts for the Nürnburgring:

  • Nürburgring – long distance – Total length: 23,864 m Elevation difference: 300 m Number of corners: 85 Longest straight: 2,135 meters
  • Nürburgring – Sprint – Total length: 3,629 m Elevation difference: 33 m Number of corners: 12 Longest straight: 620 m

The long-distance layout combines the Nordschleife with the Grand Prix track to form a 23,854 meter long track as a challenging course; the layout became famous, among other things, in the Nürburgring long-distance series NLS.

The sprint layout takes a shortcut at turn 4 of the Grand Prix circuit, making it just 3,629 meters short. Due to its compactness, the layout is said to be perfect for exciting races between slower road cars.

And finally, there is also a technical innovation worth mentioning: with the patch, Gran Turismo 7 will enable up to 120 FPS on the PlayStation 5. This requires a display with a 120 Hz output.
