Borussia Dortmund is banking on Gregor Kobel for the long term. The Ruhr club and the 25-year-old from Zurich prematurely extended their contract by 2 years, until June 2028.

According to German media, the new agreement includes a significant salary increase. Kobel, number 2 in the Swiss team behind Yann Sommer, left VfB Stuttgart for BVB in 2021 and immediately established himself as a pillar and vice-captain.
