For the first time, the actor Gregorio Pernía and his daughter Luna talk in detail about how they managed to become the winners of a well-known dance contest in the United States, what were the most difficult and critical moments, what they did with the 200 thousand dollars they won and what’s next in their lives, among other revelations on this cover that celebrates the value of family and the beautiful relationship between this father and daughter.

The proposal came when Telemundo’s Vice President of Artistic Talent saw Gregorio Pernía dancing at Carmén Villalobos’s wedding.. At that time the idea was that he participate in the dance contest with his wife; however, she was not prepared to meet all the physical requirements to be on the reality show. For that reason, the proposal to compete with her daughter Luna Pernía appeared.

Their commitment and love of dance led them to win the contest and $200,000. They beat contestants who had even more experience.

In the beginning no one had pretensions about winning, “We said: we are going for four weeks, we have fun and we enjoy this experience that, really, was very nice. But the weeks really accumulated, time passed, we began to improve. Luna had an improvement from 1 to 100, as a 15-year-old girl, like a sponge, responding to everything the teachers demanded of her. I think she also helped pull me and take me to the final, and we got into it little by little.” Gregorio Pernía assured.

Likewise, Luna confessed that, just as they experienced wonderful moments, there were also gray moments. “Many times I told my dad that I didn’t have the courage or the strength to continue.” However, the commitment they acquired made them move forward.
