Washington’s Russian forward Alexander Ovechkin scored a goal once morest Boston in an NHL regular season match and broke Wayne Gretzky’s record for the most goals scored into an empty net.

Ovechkin brought his NHL goals to 834 and closed the gap to Gretzky’s record to 60 goals. The 38-year-old Russian ranks second on the list of best snipers in league history, followed by Canadian Wayne Gretzky (894).
