Group of Germans arrested for celebrating Hitler’s birthday

BRAUNAU AM INN.- A group of four Germans, including two sisters, were arrested for celebrating the birthday of the Nazi dictator, Adolf Hitler, in his birthplace.

One of the detainees was even seen giving the Nazi salute when they posed to take photographs in front of what was the dictator’s house.

Hitler was born on April 20, 1889 in Braunau am Innin the west of Austria.

Four Germans were surprised when they placed white roses in the house where Hitler was born on the anniversary of his birth.

The police of the province of Upper Austria reported that the detainees were two sisters and their partners, between 20 and 30 years old, all German citizens.

Last Saturday, April 20, the group went to the building where the dictator was born, they placed white roses in the windows and posed in front of the house to take photographs.

The detainees were taken to a police station for interrogation.

The woman who gave the Nazi salute said she was not serious, however, the agents found a chat in which young people share messages and images in favor of the Nazism.

The four young people are detained on suspicion of violating Austrian law that bans symbols of Nazism.

The arrests come a year after work began to convert the house where Hitler was born into a police station, a proposal to make the site a less attractive destination for those who sympathize or glorify the late dictator.
