A group of nine elements, of the 22 who vandalized the Arreiou mini market, in the Dangereux neighborhood, in Luanda, were arrested and presented yesterday, December 20th, by the SIC, accused of the crimes of qualified robbery and criminal association

The arrest follows a video that went viral on social media, in which the group of 22 elements invaded one of the stores in the Arreiou mini-market, in the Dangereux neighborhood, in Luanda, and removed various food items and more.

The incident happened on December 12th of this year, in the afternoon, and the way in which the young people acted immediately revealed that it was a looting, which caused the operatives of the Investigation and Criminal Offenses Department to take several steps. and consider that it was an action by marginals.

“It was realized that the act was previously planned by one of those involved (on the run), who remained in the lead, motivating his accomplices to take possession of means such as kitchen knives, sticks and broken bottles to carry out the crime” , said Fernando Carvalho, spokesperson for SIC-Luanda. They left in a composition of 22 elements from a place close to the mini market, called Placa 300, and went to the place where they carried out the vandalization, taking with them various food items and a sum of 91,000 Kz, damaging the commercial establishment to an estimated value of 400,000 Kz.

The investigation led to the arrest of nine of the young people involved, but the spokesperson said that steps are being taken to bring the other fugitive elements into the case. And, in another measure, those already detained were presented to the competent bodies and entities to legalize the arrest. The detainees were presented yesterday, December 20th, at the Luanda Provincial Command of the National Police, and are aged between 17 and 20 years old, accused of the crimes of criminal association and qualified theft of food and monetary values.

As the SIC continued its actions, it was possible to seize some goods found in their possession, such as two bottles of drink (one of Amarula and the other of Moscano Pink) and a white t-shirt with green stripes, as well as 21 paper packages with cannabis sativa (liamba). “SIC-Luanda warns youth not to adopt attitudes that jeopardize the stability and well-being of our society, so this body will do everything to make them feel the heavy hand of the law”, he maintained, to conclude, spokesperson Fernando Carvalho.
