Le Groupe Clareton Expands French Refrigerated Transport Footprint with Transports HTA Acquisition
French logistics operator Le Groupe Clareton has officially completed its acquisition of Transports HTA, a refrigerated transport specialist based in Béziers, pushing the company’s consolidated turnover to 28 million euros ($31 million USD) and total headcount past the 200-employee milestone.
The transaction bridges two established regional family footprints in Occitanie’s road freight transport sector. Outgoing director Nicolas Jourdas, a 54-year-old veteran of the local freight industry, agreed to hand over the reins of the business to Alexandre Clareton. Crucially for operational continuity, Jourdas’s son, William Jourdas, is among the 25 employees transferring to the acquiring firm.
Managing Smooth Succession in Regional Freight
Jourdas plans to remain active within the business during the initial post-acquisition phase before moving on to new professional ventures.

“I am going to stay for a few months to support the takeover, and then I will start a new project,” Nicolas Jourdas stated, as cited by Fusacq.
Consolidating Market Share in Occitanie
Under Alexandre Clareton’s leadership, the group is scaling its asset base while maintaining its local identity.
“Our ambition remains unchanged: to continue our development while remaining faithful to the values that make up our identity. Proximity, commitment, service quality and team spirit will continue to guide each of our actions,” Alexandre Clareton noted, according to Transport Info.
With Transports HTA now integrated alongside Transports Belleville, Le Groupe Clareton strengthens its competitive positioning across the Hérault department. The dual acquisitions establish the group as an increasingly prominent player in southern France’s specialized cold-chain logistics sector.
