Growth of China’s express delivery industry in January – Xinhua English.news.cn

BEIJING, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) — China’s delivery sector recorded an expansion in January, according to a monthly industry index.

China’s express delivery development index stood at 265 in January, up 1.5 percent year on year, according to the National Post Bureau.

The sub-index for development scale rose 19.4 percent year on year, and China’s express delivery industry handled regarding 410 million parcels during the recent Spring Festival holiday, roughly almost twice as much as during the same period in 2019.

The development capability sub-index rose 0.9 percent year-on-year as China stepped up efforts to accelerate smart infrastructure construction and improve cross-border delivery capability.

Compiled on the basis of data from major logistics companies operating delivery services, the development index reflects the overall business activities and trends of the domestic delivery services industry. END
