According to some lines of code found in the leaked GTA 5 files, Rockstar is developing a version of the game for Nintendo Switch, or might have been working on it and given up.
The information was shared by the @Budzcario profile on Twitter/X.
In recent years, Rockstar has invested heavily in releases on Nintendo’s hybrid console, including the remastered version of the first Red Dead Redemption and the remastered GTA trilogy.
Despite this, we know that GTA 5 is a massive game, especially in its online mode, which makes many wonder if the 2017 console would be able to support the game without suffering too much in terms of performance and visuals.
Recently, we saw the Switch version of Mortal Kombat 1 being extremely criticized, which might be an indication that it might not be a good idea to release this port.
Another possibility is that Rockstar is developing this port for the supposed successor to the Nintendo Switch, which according to rumors, should be announced next year. In any case, considering that GTA 6 will be released in 2025, is the effort in this version of GTA 5 still valid?
