Rockstar’s new title might be released sooner than expected. Take-Two, the publisher of the GTA saga, shared information during an investor call that hints at a release window for GTA VI.
Ten years following the release of GTA V, the release of a new component is more than ever expected. In February 2022, Rockstar officially announced that they were working on GTA VI without giving any further details. Meanwhile, the studio fell victim to a hack that resulted in GTA VI beta-stage gameplay footage being leaked online.
Despite this, Rockstar has continued to maintain secrecy around the upcoming installment. However, rumors regarding the release date are growing more and more. And while some are pure speculation, others turn out to be much more serious, like the new information provided by Take-Two, the GTA publisher.
Indeed, during a call to investors, the American company estimated a turnover of 8 billion dollars for the fiscal year 2025. An astronomical figure which might be explained by the release of GTA VI between the April 1, 2024 and March 31, 2025. Indeed, there are not really other titles capable of having such a striking force and thus generating 8 billion dollars. This is all the more so since a Red Dead Redemption 3 is currently not at all on the agenda.
In a note to investors, Take-Two explains: in fiscal 2025, we plan to usher in this new era by launching several game-changing titles that we believe will set new standards in our industry and enable us to reach over $8 billion in net bookings and over $1 billion in adjusted unrestricted operating cash flow. We expect to build on this momentum by posting even stronger operating results in fiscal 2026 and beyond. ».
Since this announcement, the company’s stock price has jumped and various analysts and specialists agree to see it as the release window for GTA VI. As a reminder, last March, a recognized insider of the saga had also advanced a release date for the title in 2024. However, we are still faced with assumptions and we will have to wait for an official announcement from Rockstar.
