Guangdong open to traffic ‘Undersea Tunnel’ longer than 6,000 meters, reducing travel time less than 10 minutes (with clip)

On Wednesday (Sept. 28), Shantou City, Guangdong Province (Guangdong), southern China. An undersea tunnel, 6,680 meters long, with 6 traffic lanes, can run in two directions. and has a maximum design speed of 60 kilometers per hour.

The tunnel will reduce the travel time across the sea to less than 10 minutes and is also another thoroughfare in the event of severe weather conditions such as typhoons and storms. This might cause the two existing sea bridges to be temporarily suspended.
