Guinea: Troops announce demonstration on September 5

2024-08-22 19:55:14

The Guinean active military announced that they will hold a demonstration in Grand Conakry on Thursday, August 22, 2024. The scheduled date is September 5.

The Guinean armed forces justified this decision by demanding that the authorities “provide justice to all innocent victims of the CNDD, restore public freedoms, abandon quixotic legal proceedings against political leaders and civil society actors, and return citizens” to the constitutional order until December 31, 2024, according to the commitments made in this regard.

In this context, they invite all democratic activists to “participate in this demonstration on a massive scale with the greatest fighting spirit. When a people no longer defends its freedom and rights, it is ripe for slavery.”
