In question, during a performance in Australia, a fan would have received the object in the face. The victim, Rebecca Howe, has indeed told Australian media that Axl Rose’s last “performance” almost “cost her an eye”.
Rebecca recently posted a photo of her face shortly following the concert: the bruised face, bruised eyes and scratched nose. According to her, the microphone hit her hard: “A few centimeters more to the right or to the left and I lost an eye”, she laments.
Embarrassed, Axl Rose reacted publicly via his Twitter account: “If it’s true, we obviously don’t want anyone getting hurt… at any point in the show. After 30 years of being in the business, we thought it was a a familiar ritual at our gigs, that our fans were aware of it and wanted a chance to grab the mic. But for safety reasons, we won’t be doing that once more. We won’t be throwing mics or anything like that anymore. or else in the crowd at our concerts,” he promised.
