Gunshots were heard Wednesday evening in the Brussels commune of Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, in the north of the Belgian capital. A person was shot in the leg, said the spokesperson for the Brussels-North police, confirming information from RTL Info.
The police were called around 9:00 p.m. and went to the scene on rue de la prairie. On site, they directly treated the victim, who suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.
The victim was then taken to hospital by emergency services and is still there, police said.
The first investigative duties were launched by the prosecution. The investigation continues.
