The Haapsalu Valgete Ööde music festival expresses the lively pursuit of beautiful music in the romantic and carefree summer time. The festival has its place in the cultural summer of Estonia. Its high-level and varied music program includes a variety of activities, appealing to both the music connoisseur and the summer enthusiast.
Haapsalu City Hall organizes popular summer walks and cultural-historical talks, and a night cinema screening is also planned. Haapsalu’s special concert venues resonate with the festival – the churches, the mighty castle courtyard, the spa hall, the Uuemõisa manor, as well as the promenade and the pleasantly summery main street with its cafes and flower-scented resort life.

The main event and main focus of this year’s festival is Choral and orchestral trilogy by Tõnu Kõrvits first full presentation. On three consecutive evenings, the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, Risto Joost and three excellent choirs – the Latvian Radio Choir, Voces Tallinn and the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir – will perform the award-winning works.
All these works were written for soloists, choir and strings, and they were premiered by the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra and Risto Joost. The texts of all three works have been translated and created by Doris Kareva. – Tõnu Kürvits
