Hades 2 will be the first sequel in Supergiant Games history, and the studio explains why

Over the years, we have strived to ensure that each of our projects presents us with a new challenge that expands the creativity of the team and shows how good it is to make games together. One such challenge that we’ve been considering for a long time was to try and make a sequel that could somehow recreate the same sense of wonder and delight that its predecessor had. Some of our all-time favorite games have achieved this! The question is, can we?

Hades II, with a new look at the dark and alluring aspect of Greek myth, gives us the opportunity to find out. We continue to develop the foundational ideas that have captivated us since the early days of Supergiant, while expanding the world of Hades in ways we find exciting. And we hope you feel the same way.
