Hajj quota allotted this time is 1,75,025; Saudi and India signed the agreement

Jeddah: This year’s Hajj agreement was signed between Saudi Arabia and India. Saudi Arabia’s Hajj-Umrah Minister Dr. Tawfiq Al Rabia and Deputy Minister Dr. Abdul Fattah Musham is signing the agreement with representatives of Hajj Ministry from different countries. As part of this, Consul General Shahid Alam signed the agreement with the authorities on behalf of India.

Hajj signed the contract at an exhibition held at Jeddah Dome near King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah. Important procedures related to the organization of Hajj are also included in the agreements. According to the agreement, 1,75,025 people from India will have the opportunity to perform Hajj this year. This is the total quota allowed to be reached through the Indian Hajj Mission and private Hajj groups.

Before Covid, 1.4 lakh people from India had the opportunity to perform Hajj in 2019. This was the highest quota allotted to India earlier. But in 2020 it has reduced to 1.24 lakh. Post-Covid, India’s quota for Hajj was 79,237 last year. Saudi Arabia has signed agreements with 19 countries so far. Agreements will be signed with more countries in the coming days.
