The airport in Hamburg, Germany, was closed on Saturday evening following an armed man broke through a gate into the airport grounds around 8 p.m., a federal police spokesman said. All flights to and from the German city have been suspended
The man allegedly fired twice into the air and may have been carrying two children in his vehicle. His wife had contacted state police earlier in the evening regarding a possible child abduction, law enforcement said. State and federal police units are on scene.
