March 19 legend of Soviet and Russian pop music Valery Leontyev announced his retirement from the big stage. According to the singer’s concert director Boris Chigirev, Leontyev made this decision because of his age.
“Valery Yakovlevich has not performed on stage for a long time, it’s just that now it has become official. We haven’t held concerts or participated in television programs for a long time because of his 75 years of age,” Chigirev said on March 19, the artist’s birthday.
Let us remember that Leontyev gave his last big concert back in 2019. And in 2021, he became a member of the jury of the fourth season of the vocal show “Voice 60+” on Channel One.
True, already with the beginning of the Northern Military District, Valery Yakovlevich disappeared from the media space. The media reported that he and his wife Lyudmila Isakovich are in Miami and do not yet plan to return to Russia.
