Mumbai: Gujarat Titans bowler Mohammad Shami’s over was caught by skipper Hardik Pandya in the match against Rajasthan Royals on social media. In the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Shamim was unable to catch Hardik Pandya’s over. Pandya was then angry with Shami.
At the time, Pandya was widely criticized for treating a senior Indian cricketer like this. After this, Pandya lost the catch in Shami’s over in the next match. Disappointment at the loss of the catch was evident on Shami’s face but he did not see any anger back. Criticism of Pandya points to both. Pandya dropped Rajasthan batsman Shiron Hetmeyer. Hetmeyer was dismissed in the same over. Gujarat won the match by 37 runs. Gujarat’s winner was Hardik Pandya’s 87 not out. Pandya hit four sixes and eight fours in his 52-ball innings. Abhinav Manohar Pandya added 43 runs. Miller’s 31 off 14 balls helped Gujarat to a commanding total of 192.
In reply, Rajasthan could score only 155 runs. Jose Buttler was the only Rajasthan batsman to score 54 runs. Shimron Hetmeyer scored 29 runs. Loki Ferguson and Yash Dayal took three wickets each for Gujarat.
