Harry Giles III Signs with Brooklyn Nets: A Tale of Resilience and Redemption

While the Basketball World Cup is in full swing and NBA news is currently close to nothing, there are still a few signatures who deserve their little paper. Like that of Harry Giles III, a ghost who is about to land with the Brooklyn Nets.

All he wanted was a new opportunity. And it is on the side of New York that HGIII will try to seize it.

As Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report, Harry Giles III has reached an agreement with the Nets for a one-year contract. No details were given regarding the nature of the deal, whether it is guaranteed or not (probably not). But what is certain is that the 25-year-old interior will go all out, because he has come a long way.

Harry Giles is back ?! ????????☺️

The one who was once considered the best prospect in the United States has not played a single NBA game since May 2021 (with the Blazers). His early career was ravaged by injuries, which again suffered a ruptured knee ligament in January 2022 when he was with the Agua Caliente Clippers in the G League.

These many hard knocks did not however discourage Harry Giles III, who continued to work in his corner to try to find a spot in the NBA. He notably showed up in Las Vegas this summer during a private workout in front of leaders of the Great League. Guess there was a Nets scout on site…

We’ll see if Harry Giles III manages to find a place in Brooklyn’s interior rotation behind starting pivot Nic Claxton, but we’re already happy to see him again after all the troubles he’s had. HGIII has talent, he is spectacular, and brings energy every time he steps on the court.

In short, typically the kind of guy we hope to see reborn.
