Haut-Uélé: a national deputy sells his seat for 1 million US dollars

The seat of national deputy Jean Bakomito would be sold to Christophe Baseane Nangaa for 1 million US dollars, we learned this Thursday, March 14, 2024.

According to our source, the notables of this corner of the country denounce this transgression and ask their son Jean Bakomito to file an appeal with the high court to obtain compensation for what they consider to be a material error.

Jean Bakomito is the national president of a young political party, the ARDC, anchored in Haute-Uele. For his party, he was elected only in Haute-Uélé: 4 national deputies, 5 provincial deputies and 11 municipal deputies.

“We denounce this material error which ruins the hopes of an entire people and demand that everyone be restored to their rights. You cannot lose such a prestigious position just because of the pure selfishness of a third party. We need the people’s choice to be respected,” said an official from Haut-Uélé.

Remember that during the 2023 elections, Jean Bakomito was among the men who overwhelmingly elected the head of state Félix Tshisekedi in Haute-Uélé.
