On Ukrainian Volunteer Day, Vitaliy Klitschko presented awards from the capital to the families of fallen soldiers

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko presented the honors of the Mayor of Kyiv – medals “Hon. Glory. State” – to the families of fallen soldiers.

“Today, on the Day of the Ukrainian Volunteer, we honor the exploits and courage of the Defenders of Ukraine. The first volunteers went to the front immediately after the Revolution of Dignity in 2014. And we remember how Ukrainians stood up to defend their country in the first days of the full-scale invasion of the Russian aggressor. All Defenders went to the front, aware of their duty. They changed their lives and took up arms so that Ukrainians could live freely on their land, in an independent state. We also remember those who, unfortunately, died in the struggle for the rights to freedom of the Ukrainian people. Their names will forever remain in the history of our state. I understand that no award can ease the pain of loss. But it is another proof of respect for our Defenders, their courage and bravery. And the greatest tribute to the exploits of the soldiers will be our Victory over the enemy and peace in a democratic and successful Ukraine. Glory to Ukraine and its Heroes!” Vitaliy Klitschko emphasized.

Posthumous awards – medals “Honor. Glory. State” – families of 33 Ukrainian soldiers received.
